Russell Connor calls his paintings ‘Masters in Pieces’. Deriving (stealing, he says, with tongue planted in cheek) from the classics, he paints the subjects of the masters and creates art- as well as statements- that is uniquely his own. While he speaks through the greatest artists of all times, the voice is entirely his. This soft spoken, self-deprecating painter is a hoot as he discusses his life’s work and how people react to him.
