This documentary traces Finn’s attempts to heal the wounds his father’s suicide caused his entire family. Twelve years ago, Hakan hanged himself in their summer cottage. Finn talks to his mother Margareta and his sister Tilde, and tries to get a grip on his own thoughts and emotions by reminiscing about the days right after his father’s death. He wonders whether the image he has of his dad has become his own creation - whether they are truly one and the same person. The resemblance is striking between Finn and the man we see in the old family pictures. Many tears flow, not least Finn’s own, but humour and laughter are never far away. |
