Heavy early-morning deer traffic dictates the daily routine in this Bavarian border town close to the Czech Republic. Gisela and Bertl are in such turmoil that they forget their Holy Sunday family duties. The deer in Alfons’ boot keeps his 40- year-old marriage crisis at full steam. Such stories tie together the people of a no-man’s land at the heart of Europe.
