WALLS is a ROCK BIO-PIC of the life of Bill Wall an extraordinary musician, teacher and man. A virtuoso on the drums he played and taught around Melbourne for 20 years. At the height of his musical powers, Bill tragically took his own life in 1999. As a teenager, Danny Thomas was a drum student of Bill’s. 15 years later, still inspired by his teaching, Danny made ‘Walls’ to give Bill the recognition he deserves. The film is a gift to those close to him and in aid of charity for male depression. As well as tributes from Bill’s parents and fellow musicians, Walls contains precious archival footage of the musician at his best. The film explores the language of music, the relationship between student and teacher and dreams. Time heals, life has gone on for the players in Bill’s story. Bill remains present in their lives. |
