J.P. Rothbone and his Sniveling Cronies are up to no good again destroying habitats as they build their Colossal Condo Complex in the middle of a Chilean rain forest. But indigenous tree frogs are sticking to the windows and keeping guests awake all night! J.P. is convinced that the frogs must go! Word about the frogs’ bleak situation leaks back to H.O.P.E. headquarters, where the Boneheads learn from Marrow why frogs are important to ecosystems and how tadpoles undergo metamorphosis to become adult frogs. The frog rescue begins and Planet Bonehead’s heroes are off to ensure a healthy “future for frogs.” Kids learn the importance of frogs and toads to healthy ecosystems and to human health as well. The adaptations of these incredible amphibians to their environment is showcased through brilliant photography and video of endangered frog species, narrated by Planet Bonehead’s original animated characters. An up-to-the-minute “Newsflash” focuses on the chytrid fungus, devastation of amphibian species worldwide, and the scientist heroes who are working hard to battle the fungus and save all amphibians. Bonehead delivers a musical “You Have the Power” message to kids with practical suggestions on what they can do to protect amphibians and to support “endangered species captive breeding programs” at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens as well as local zoos and aquariums. |
