‘Growing up as a kid, I had always wanted to do something for my country, my India. I had always thought I will never be part of the brain-drain. But, finally, here I was, it was 2005 and I had just graduated from Engineering college in Bombay and decided to pursue my Masters. I had chosen the dollar dream.’ Fresh off the boat, Neil arrives in America. Without mummy’s home made food and the challenges of a new education system Neil and his room mate Prashant work towards their American dreams. Sometimes their journey shocks, sometimes it exhilarates but sometimes and less often it’s awkward, funny and uncomfortable in a subtle way as they navigate through cultural differences and begin to fit in. |
