Details:

‘It seemed it was going to be a tragedy but I found it a comedy’ - Peter Maass, journalist. ‘Watch Me Sustain’ follows The High Strung, a Detroit 3-piece rock band as they try to remain relevant by performing at American libraries in 2007 after having just circled America playing club gigs. Through frustration, humor, realism, and idealism, and with the camera’s unfettered access, we are shown first-hand how it is to be ‘in the van’. Since filming, the band has secured notoriety with a song used for all seasons of the Showtime series ‘Shameless’; and, the lead singer has succeeded in having his first psycho-horror novel published, by Harper Collins in May 2014… these are the fruits of the labors we see in the film.
