How do you capture the devil? How do you contain evil itself? Howard ‘Duke’ Ellington has done just that: he has imprisoned the devil. By day, the man locked in an upstairs bedroom of Duke’s house begs to be let go to see his wife and daughter; by night, the devil appears before Duke to taunt his efforts. Has Howard done the impossible and wonderful, locking the devil away for the benefit of humankind?
