Antonio, a poor Italian, saves money to send to his sweetheart in Italy and takes a day off to celebrate. A salesman tries to sell him Liberty Bonds. He tells him what might happen to his sweetheart and the scene fades to an attack by Hun soldiers on a young girl. Antonio’s parrot yells “Hurrah for the Kaiser.” His master chucks him out of the window. He tells the salesman to give him bonds, and decides to go back to work. |
