I dunno, Hardy’s pretty damned versatile. I don’t even realize it’s him in a role sometimes—like in Peaky Blinders, he was in 3-4 eps before I caught on.
That’s part of the point: he’ll go unnoticed, just like the actors who played the role, after Sir. S. Connery, and before P Brosnan (not particularly fond of him, either; but he was better than the afore NOT mentioned; and, of course, Daniel Craig! See, it’s like the Superman franchise (for me):
Christopher Reeve (Sean Connery), Henry Cavil (Daniel Craig. The rest? Superman TV show actors; {you know they exist, but… meh!}.
It’s just my opinion, however; which may, or may not be, as irrelevant as the rest.
