I was a little apprehensive about watching this series, as this type of program has been done many times over. Fortunately, CNN actually managed to do a decent job with putting this together. What’s different, is that we now have a chance to see and hear how more contemporary (and independent films), writers and directors were both impacted and inspired by the visions of their predecessors. The episodes are long, but each is intertwined with facts and updated commentaries from actors, critic’s, directors, educators and other industry types. imo, this was actually more informative and interesting than I’d thought that it would be. I even discovered a few movies that had slipped under my radar that I’ve listed to watch. If you’re a film buff, you will probably enjoy the series. I’m currently three episodes in and plan on staying with it.
