I just read this morning that there were 100,000 deaths from drug overdoses in 2020. It’s sickening. This show scared the bejeezus out of me. I wish it were available more widely to allow a greater audience to learn about the influence Pharm has on local, state and federal governments. Was it you who said it’s a Weapon of Mass Destruction? It most certainly is and how has NO government since the 80s been able to even make a dent in any of the epidemics starting with meth?
I know many helpful solutions can be put into place, but one of them, as the show acknowledges, is that people don’t want rehab clinics in their communities. The irony is that about 1 out of 4 people suffer from addiction be it alcohol, prescription or street drugs. Everyone knows someone who is affected by addiction. So it’s better to keep it inside the walls of homes and let it rage rather than put up a clinic? Ridic!
