Took some old and mixed it with some new. I liked the premise. I liked the sim FX. The build up was a little slow and the payoff was alright. Points to them for avoiding a few tropes. There wasnt much chemistry between the main character and her bestie; they should have built that more and built more on the ex bf. Honestly one of the main issues was the lack of depth/connection for all characters.
All that being said, I think they nailed the tension and suspense, but was it a great movie? No. Was it a good movie with some interesting ideas, imo, yes. It might just be that while Niel is capable of producing some fearture lengths, his specialty seems to be at its best in short bursts. Like in Oats Studios eps on Netflix and on here as well. Or maybe he might do better with a show with more tme to flesh out ideas. Im just not sure though.
