You know, this very-low-budget horror flick, with lots of unknowns doing double duty both in front of the cameras and behind the scenes, wasn’t half bad. There’s bit of a religious overtone to the message but nothing is heavy-handed or off-putting, as you’ll see if you choose to watch. More like a positive-teachable-moment feel, almost; not a preachy hectorfest.
The actors are decent, some more than others…and someone knew what they were doing in the music dept. The score really enhances things in a way we usually see in much more big-budget films. I liked a certain character’s sly portrayal of a person with old-world beliefs who also follows current TV and internet. “I’m not gonna be a complete stereotype, dammit!” he seems to imply LOL. You’ll see who I mean.
Low-grade FX are shown, but the idea, not the bells and whistles, is the thing here. Might even see a sequel. Enjoy.
