As a standalone without the history of the “Terminator” franchise, this film is 128 minutes of constant CGI-driven action. As far as an intricate plot and engaging characters, it’s sorely lacking. Apart from the CGI-action, it’s yawn worthy. Perhaps it’s that I expected to at least need to think about what the story-line was telling me, but this film didn’t require any of the more advanced senses. I can see both the virtue of watching it and the reasons behind not needing to. I wouldn’t call this story “Terminator”; I’d call it a spin-off, once removed.
