Gee, I wonder what other psychiatrists that definitely do exist during that time would have done if they came across a young child with psycopathic tendencies? Are you saying that ALL OF THEM grew up to be killers AND nobody noticed that? Before this, the audience is led to believe that Harry is the monster in all of this for deciding to turn a child into a vigilante for some unknown obsession with Justice. But fom this episode you find out he was tricked by an unethical psychiatrist. Sure, for like a study, she did something brilliant. But she can’t report her findings to anyone. Which means she believes her actions are morally right. She had no way of knowing if Dexter would follow the path of an addict and increase the scope of his killings. Any singular innocent life lost by his hand would be on her. And there have been way too many times during the show he could have started on a slippery slope.
