There were a pair of Caracals in MI where I live that kept escaping their wonderful enclosure. It was in a very populated neighborhood and near a school. People got very upset. The cats did fear the people more and tend to hide when they got out. I wish people would just stay away from the exotics all together. Most are clueless on ownership and the animals suffer. Hell just look at domestic cats and dogs, people are clueless on what basic care for an animal is.
The fact that many do not spay or neuter and allow unwanted feral is a good example. They say spay and neuter is inhumane, but starvation and incarceration to the point of literal “insanity” is not. A cage is not a solution. “Crates” should only be used in very careful and reasonable manner, not as a go-to. It’s entirely heart-sickening that my animal-living counterparts are so cavalier and disrespectful of life. Bring on the extinction point event and relieve humans of their “failed task”!
