I binged season 1 yesterday and I have to say the first three episodes are full of plot holes and move really fast. Some hint or glimpse of an image and Toby is across town climbing in a window to save the day based on thin evidence and a hunch- laws be damned! This guy needs to see Minority report.
I do like that it’s not the same typical consultant show (US) , where some arrogant consultant solves crimes for the PD while being a total anti-hero jerk to his colleagues (think Scorpion, Lie to me, Bull, Elementary, Numbers etc.) It will be interesting to watch him solve crime while helping people directly. That being said, the over saturated dyed hair, pancake makeup and weird filter make the first season pretty hard to watch. They look like aliens with auras. It’s similar to the AI filters now. I’m breezing through them since they are all 38min long.
Season two is a little easier on the eyes and the storylines are more creative.
Season 3 they’ve removed the filter, and heavy makeup. All of a sudden people have freckles, 5’oclock shadows and look human. Toby is now on a police taskforce and it’s really disappointing to see the job go in that direction. I really enjoyed the EMS angle and making him a cop seems well - lazy writing. Keeping his cover was what made the first two seasons fun. Now half the 1st responders know he’s psychic.
