It’s good but it uses the same formula as the first: brooding guy who has nothing to live for gets an opportunity to redeem himself for abandoning his kid by risking his life to save another kid(s).
Lot of movies use the same basic formula, but not nearly as well. This one did it and did it even better the second time around. Lot of the ones that try using the same method don’t do so well the second time around, then still keep trying; Think with this one they should quit while they are ahead, not going to get better then this one.
