An escaped killer causes a public outcry when he turns up in Aidensfield and commits a series of violent attacks on the locals, two of the victims being his own parents. Rob allows his feelings to jeopardise the recapture of the convict when Helen is kidnapped. Meanwhile, David faces a heartbreaking time when Claude Greengrass' beloved lurcher Alfred passes away.
