Brian Unger and some locals time travel to Jamestown, Virginia, and Death Valley, California, to learn how they helped shape America today. First stop, Jamestown, Virginia, in the 17th century. Thirteen years before Plymouth Rock, Jamestown became the first permanent English settlement in America. Now an active archaeological site, Jamestown transforms before our eyes to a time when setters faced a myriad of hardships in the New World. Brian and his guests participate in the wedding of Pocahontas and John Rolfe, then take part in an active archaeological dig where they become the first visitors to hold a rare, 400 year-old artifact. |
