In the fifth episode, worried dog-sitters Natasha and Josiah arrive at the clinic with eight-year-old Bam Bam the Maltese terrier, who has lost half of his body weight. Blood tests confirm Scott's suspicion that Bam Bam is diabetic. The terrier is in a critical condition and needs immediate treatment if he is to survive. Bam Bam is placed on a drip for several days to try to bring him back from the brink. |
