Mr Bloom and the Veggies join a group of school children from the Yorkshire village of Clapham for a special Harvest festival episode.Filmed over a number of months, together they follow the journey of a seed – from planting to harvest. Mr Bloom and the Veggies help the children to plant seeds in their kitchen garden in spring, watch the plants grow in the summer and see their efforts culminate in a big Harvest Festival in autumn.The children discover how their village was home to a Victorian plant hunter who brought back plants to England from his travels afar - plants that can be seen to this day. The children also learn how the Harvest Festival is a celebration of how the crops we often take for granted grow bit by bit and day by day.The Veggies are on hand to help pick the crops and prepare for the celebration, but who will win the Best Looking Vegetable Award? |
