Before he can say yes to his bride Vivian, groom Freddy collapses at the altar. He quickly feels better in the clinic - maybe it was just nervousness. But Dr. Ballouz finds out that Freddy's heart is damaged due to a delayed illness; his only chance is immediate surgery. "Till death do you part" – this promise that previously seemed frighteningly long to Freddy may now be frighteningly short. Vivian and Freddy still give it a go before the operation. And hope they see each other again. Senior physician Dr. Mark Schilling diagnoses 80-year-old Wilma with liver carcinoma. But Wilma refuses treatment because she has to care for her sister Luise, who suffers from Alzheimer's. The two have never been separated once in their lives. Wilma only sees one way out. But she underestimated Luise's will to live. |
