Sheriff Boone takes John to Elmdale for his trial. He is accused of falsifying the title deed to the land on which he built New Babylon. Django tries to intercede with Judge Fourier, whom he has known since the Civil War. For his part, Seymour threatened to set fire to the oil wells of New Babylon so that the inhabitants would rally to Elizabeth's cause. |
