The federal judge overseeing former President Donald Trump's 2020 election interference case on Friday released nearly 1,900 pages of evidence gathered by special counsel Jack Smith. Paul Whelan, the former Marine who was wrongfully detained in Russia for nearly six years, spoke to CBS News in his first interview since his release in August as part of a complex prisoner swap. Opening statements were heard Friday in the trial of a man charged with murder in the 2017 slayings of two teen girls in Delphi, Indiana. The two had gone for a hike along a bridge trail and their bodies were found the following day about a half-mile from where they were last seen. The suspect, Richard Allen, was arrested in 2022.
