Manuel Bojorquez reports from the mountains of North Carolina, where entire towns have been buried under mud and debris. Former President Donald Trump and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp made a rare joint appearance Friday to discuss Hurricane Helene recovery efforts. It was the first time the two have appeared together since 2020, as Trump has repeatedly attacked Kemp over the Georgia results of the 2020 election. Nikole Killion and Caitlin Huey-Burns report. The Labor Department reported an unexpectedly large surge in new job creation, with employers adding 254,000 jobs in September. That's far above what was projected by economists. Jo Ling Kent explains. Helene destroyed a family-owned campground in North Carolina, leaving its owners facing a hard choice on how to move forward. Steve Hartman goes "On the Road" for a story on resilience and hope. One of the tightest races this presidential election is the battle for Pennsylvania and its 19 electoral votes. In 2016, former President Donald Trump won Pennsylvania by just over 44,200 votes. In 2020, President Biden won by a margin of about 80,500 votes. Any issue could make or break either candidate, and the fight over fracking is divisive. Scott MacFarlane explains why. |
