The life of Cathrin Blake, alias Désirée Nosbusch, is in danger of getting out of joint: In "The Price of Silence", the criminal psychologist suddenly finds herself on a revenge campaign, the connection to a murder case only becoming apparent when Cathrin is already in great danger. At her side, Thomas Sarbacher and Rainer Bock play characters that are as charismatic as they are difficult to understand. Covered-up scandals and abuse of power – in front of this backdrop, director Alexander Dierbach unfolds his story about human longings and deformations, which captivates up to the last minute. Life seems to mean well with criminal psychologist Cathrin Blake (Désirée Nosbusch): From the acquaintance with the charming Matt (Thomas Sarbacher)a tender love affair has developed. Professionally, however, Cathrin faces a tricky case: A year and a half ago, the renowned psychologist Helen Bell disappeared without a trace. At the time there were no signs of a crime, but now her body, which has serious injuries, is found. Cathrin, who had a passing acquaintance with Helen, is brought in to the case by Superintendent Sean Kelly (Declan Conlon). Helen's husband Erik (Rainer Bock), a colleague whom Cathrin values very much and who was receiving therapeutic treatment from Cathrin after his wife's disappearance, comes under suspicion. Erik seems to have an alibi. Nevertheless, distrust soon germinated in Cathrin as well. The psychiatrist, who seems to have such integrity, is hiding something.
