With just two days to go before Election Day, all eyes are on the seven battleground states that are likely to determine the election. A team of CBS News correspondents join "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" from some of the battleground states: Caitlin Huey-Burns reports from North Carolina, Nikole Killion in Georgia, Kris Van Cleave in Arizona and Weijia Jiang in Pennsylvania. Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, who is on the Senate Intelligence Committee, tells "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that as "time goes on, we're going to learn more" about Chinese hacking of U.S. telecom companies. "It's a very serious situation that we face," he added. Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, who is a surrogate for the Harris campaign in Nevada, tells "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that she is "very confident" Democrats will "organize our way to victory" in the battleground state. With 76 million Americans having voted early, CBS News election law contributor David Becker tells "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" those high numbers show that Americans "increased our ability to be resilient against the disinformation." CBS News contributor and former DHS official Sam Vinograd and CBS News cybersecurity expert and analyst Chris Krebs also join with more on election security. Mohamed El-Erian, the Allianz chief economic adviser, tells "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan," that both former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris' economic proposals are concerning "in a big way" since they do not include any plan to reduce the national debt. CBS News director of elections and surveys Anthony Salvanto joins "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" to discuss the latest 2024 Battleground Tracker, which shows how voter turnout and persuasion scenarios could tip battleground states for former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris. |
