Description: Perry Mason is an American fictional character, a criminal defense lawyer who is the main character in works of detective fiction written by Erle Stanley Gardner. The character of Perry Mason was adapted for motion pictures and a long-running radio series. Warner Bros. released a series of six Perry Mason films in the 1930s. These were followed by the well-known adaptation, the CBS television series Perry Mason (1957–1966) starring Raymond Burr. A second television series, The New Perry Mason starring Monte Markham, ran from 1973 to 1974. Thirty Perry Mason television films ran from 1985 to 1995, with Burr reprising the role of Mason in 26 of them prior to his death in 1993. Four additional contracted movies were completed, featuring Barbara Hale as Della Street. The defense attorneys were played by Paul Sorvino (once) and Hal Holbrook (in the final three). A third television miniseries, HBO’s Perry Mason starring Matthew Rhys started airing in 2020.

When cat-hating Sam threatens Clinker, Perry steps in and learns Laxter's death was suspicious and the family fortune and diamonds are missing. Schuster's found dead in his basement apartment, Laxter's nurse Louise is murdered with Schuster's crutch, and circumstantial evidence brings Doug to trial for Louise's death. Mason's investigation produces a surprise witness who turns the trial around.

Later that night, Brownley is to meet Ida, but he is shot by a woman who drops Ida's gun. Ida is arrested for the murder of Mr. Brownley and Perry gets involved.

After a one night stand with David, Kate is pregnant and she blackmails David with this. David and his wife Judy can't have children so that comes as a double blow to them. However Kate, with her attitude, creates much hatred at her from the rest of the group. At the gala, the glass coffin is raised but when it opens Kate's dead body falls to the ground - strangled. While Perry and Della set out to try to find the killer, Ken and PI Terry Weidner set out to find out more about Kate but they discover that nobody in Kate's home town wants to talk about her for some reason...
