The short narrates a day in a life of João/ John. He is a low-income immigrant from Brazil that has to fight every day to get a better life in America. He lives with his mother, a nurse, and his grandma. His mother always wanted the best for her son. She works at the local hospital, but between living cost and health issues, it is hard to save money. She manages to save some and get a newer car for her son to work as a share-riding driver for one of those apps. His grandma is unemployed. She helps as much as she can by fixing dresses and clothes for her neighbors, but has a hard time charging and collecting money for her work. João wakes up in the morning to take his mother to the hospital and from there he works as a driver. Each day, he has a different experience where the arrangement of people that he meets helps to shape and change his life. This specific day is important because it shows a saturation of elements.
