Red Winter is an epic crime drama about a Russian Mafia Family at war with the Yakuza. When Viktor Argon is assassinated, the Family loses more than its leader - it loses its heart. After the fall of their beloved patriarch, a vicious power struggle threatens to tear the Family apart. Viktor’s widow (Anya) forges an alliance with her trusted bodyguard (Oleg Kharpov) and wrests control of the mafia empire from her brutal son (Sergey). Meanwhile, the Yakuza kidnaps Anya’s beautiful daughter (Natasha) and holds her hostage until a cease-fire can be negotiated between the two rival organizations. Anya orders her ruthless lieutenant (Mikhail Surgan) to arrange a meeting where Natasha (who he secretly loves) will be reunited with her family. But the treacherous gangster makes a secret deal with the Yakuza to eliminate Sergey and seize control of the Argon Family. Mikhail knows that one of his men (Alex Prince) is really an undercover cop that has been forced to infiltrate the Russian mafia. He tells Alex (who is also sleeping with Natasha) that unless he kills Sergey at the meeting with the Yakuza, he will reveal his true identity to the Family. Alone and uncertain who he can trust - or even who he is really working for - Alex finds his loyalties (and conscience) are put to the ultimate test. In the end, no one will survive the bloody war with the Yakuza unscathed. Friends become enemies and families are torn apart as Anya sacrifices everything she holds dear to avenge her beloved husband and consolidate her control of the Argon Family.
