“Tales of a Dragon and a Butterfly” is a poetic mixed-media documentary about the life of a middle-aged woman, Jeannie Dragon, and her tattoos: a butterfly and a dragon. In an attempt to overcome her harsh past life, her tattoos helped her to take steps into new life as an artist and lesbian. Like a visual poem interlaced her voice and etched subtitles, the film is composed of time-lapse movie of her making a sculpture layered with images of her childhood and colorfully painted animation. |
