Extreme hardboiled world which unfolds in beautiful Kyoto town - Set in Kyoto’s amusement area/Kiyamachi, sad story of a man who carries a burden on his body - Protagonist Katsuura once led the organization which dominated Kyoto’s Kiyamachi. He lost his arms and legs due to an incident 5 years ago. Receiving care from Sakamoto, young man of the organization, he makes a living in desperation by collecting money from the debtors with his handicapped body. Katsuura and Sakamoto see debtors’ lives have been broken. While suffering in dirty underworld society, they came to know the fact of that incident 5 years ago… This work cuts the taboo in Japanese society, and draws direct sufferance and way of life of men who are caught up in absurdity of organization and society, underneath the underworld community. The original work is a novel of a writer Hiroyuki Maruno with the same title, who continues to challenge the taboo of the times. In 2012, the ban on this e-book was removed from App Store, but the problem was novel which was banned of publishing prohibition, “too dangerous contents!”, “too extreme to release!”, “No possibility to publish”. It has been refused to release continuously by so-called big plural publishing companies, magazines related to underworld community, big self-publishing companies. Maruno is also in charge of screenplay for this work.
