Details:

In January 2014, we asked the members of the Zakynthos Youth Group what they would like to make a short film about. Their only guidance was to find a subject that was important to them. They surprised us by choosing the subject of bullying. As we explored the subject it became apparent that each of them had direct experience of bullying, in all its different forms. The very act of sharing their stories liberated and strengthened them, so when it came to writing the script for them we wanted to convey the importance of allowing young people to talk. We also wanted to make a positive impact on the subject, and explore some of root causes of bullying. The groups improvisations and ideas led the script writer (Barbara Clother) to create a touching piece of magical realism, tailored to be shot within the short time and low budget available to us. The film crew were made up of professionals and volunteers from the UK and Zakynthos Greece who gave their time for nothing. The cast comprised members of the Zakynthos Youth Theatre Group and school student volunteers, who all put their hearts and souls into the filming.
