TIED & TRUE is set in the near future in the fictional city of Mektoub (“Alignment”), and tells a story of star-crossed lovers. RAJA (18) is a Mektoub royal, and her step-nephew JOHNNY (22) is a working-class interloper. Their love, illicit in the eyes of the world, at first triumphs, then falters, to internalized pressures from the outside-leaving us to question whether love and connection can win out against the constructions of difference and self. |
