“Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” is a question that forms in the viewer’s mind when STANDBY’s only character - a domestic robot - wakes up from his (or her) slumber, only to find itself in a world that just seems a little too neat and tidy. In this claustrophobic setting of a futuristic mega-city is a tale of decay and renewal that is mirrored in the regenerative cycle (the standby mode) of its lonely protagonist. |
