THE STUDIO: A place to pursue passions, follow dreams and become inspired. THE STUDIO is a real look inside a successful Atlanta ballroom studio and the real lives of the people behind it. With limited time and access, we filmed and completed a two-part pilot as a conceptual piece to pitch our concept to TV networks and grow support. The pilot is a real take that encompasses real ballroom students and instructors as they prepare for a ballroom dance competition, as well as the pressures of the owners and staff in managing the studio and producing a national level dance competition. We filmed the pilot over a two week period including the week before Hotlanta Dance Challenge and later at the competition. We are looking forward to producing a full series showing the complete journey ballroom dancers take in preparation for a competition, as well as more “day in the life” coverage of real students, instructors, and the studio owners. For those students competing, we will show all aspects of dancing, from the selection of routines and dresses to the juggling of money to support the dancers’ passion.
