Mad, set in modern day suburban Connecticut, follows the story of Marlee, an eighteen year old girl who must come to terms with her own mortality when the symptoms of her Mad Cow disease begin to manifest. On Halloween night, when her hallucinations begin to blur the lines between reality and fantasy, Marlee realizes she can no longer run from her illness and must decide if she should tell her girlfriend, Sue, about the inevitable fatal outcome. Coming to terms with the ghosts of her past and the future that haunts her present, Marlee must make the choice between protecting her girlfriend’s sanity and keeping herself from going mad. |
