Questions Sleep Can Answer is the story of Teresa, a paranoid schizophrenic who has learned that absolute submission to the voices she hears minimizes the day-and-night torment they impose upon her. This state of so-called harmony is disrupted when, in an unguarded moment, Teresa falls in love with Ben and raises the voices’ fury. At the end of a series of dreams, Teresa fears that Ben is as demonic as the voices. Yet she recognizes, within the dream state, that continuing to surrender to the self-destructive momentum dictated by the voices is only going to further erode her morality and bring her to greater suffering. This realization breaks the hold that her voices have over her.
