Details:

In the heart of Vancouver Island, the Cowichan Tribes have been performing their songs & dances for many generations. Only since the 1950’s have they been made available to the general public in a performance called a ‘Tzinqwa Opera’ Narrated by teacher & drummer, John George, he tells the story of the Thunderbird & the Killer Whale while the dancers are acting out the legend. Set on the beautiful banks of the Cowichan River, we witness the Cowichan Tribes recreate the story. We talk and met with John George and his dancers & get their perspectives on carrying out a heritage of the songs and dances that started with their ancestors a very long time ago.
