Tim is an ordinary man who was offered extraordinary chances. He could have become a successful lawyer, a mafioso crime leader, or a rich company investor. Years later he tells his friend of this story and of how he regrets not taking one of these amazing opportunities. On his way home he is abruptly struck by lightning. He opens his eyes to find himself in a large car owned by the very criminals who offered him to become their leader. The lightning brought him to an alternate reality of what his life would have been like had he enlisted in the mafia. Later, on their way to a warehouse, they are ambushed by a SWAT team, and just before being brutally shot to death Tim is struck by lightning a second time. This time he wakes up in a hot tub in a glorious mansion; he is the investor. This alternate reality seems perfect until Tim realizes that he lives alone and recently tried to commit suicide due to suffering from depression. He is struck down again, by lightning. Finally he wakes up as a lawyer in Washington DC, however he soon finds out that he is in fact being convicted of a crime for lying in one of his earlier cases. In the end he is given the choice of the three lives and ends up choosing his old life, learning a valuable lesson and making a striking choice.
