The suburbs, garbage dumps and markets are all located near each other where some migrant workers make their livings separating garbage and enjoy the sun and food together with the garbage dogs that have been left at the dump. They form a new, marginal urban microcosm. Through recycling, garbage once again enters a new mode of social production. Garbage dogs are lured into markets, but they are not sold as pets but as meat. Most of the stolen and poisoned dog meat is consumed in dog meat restaurants, and the price is half that of a healthy living dog that are killed on site; Their skin is removed and the meat carved up. They are purchased by urban residents, and these dogs re-enter urban households. |
