Details:

For young conductors the opportunity to get the much needed experience in working with a professional orchestra, there is now the new National Master Orchestral Conducting, a collaboration of the conservatories of Amsterdam and The Hague, and all major Dutch orchestras. Hundreds of young conductors from around the world volunteer for this prestigious program, where only two students are accepted each year. Last year, no one was adopted. The two students at Master Orchestral Conducting work during their training for all professional orchestras in the Netherlands, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of the Rotterdam Philharmonic . This past school year the Swiss Konradin Herzog and the Hungarian Huba Hollokoi were the two elect. Maestri follows the pair during the first year of their training. From the first auditions to that big, important moment in the career of each conductor, the first time they conduct the 5th Symphony by Beethoven.
