The 23 Hour, 59 Minute, 59 Second Film Festival. It is Movie Magic Film School’s annual year-end competition in which four graduates-to-be, hand-picked by the school’s director - also known as “The Most Important Man In Film” - must each write, shoot, and edit a short film within - you guessed it - 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds. The stakes are high: the student whose film is deemed the best will be awarded the coveted Golden Camera. Ambitious first-year student Anastasia Beeverhousen, determined to make a film of her own, assembles a crew and sets out to document the competition, getting an inside look at the four participating filmmakers and their creative processes. “Hollywood”, “Jimmy John”, “Canon Camerone”, and “Louis Nippel” are fully confident in their ability to make great films - at least in the beginning. Over the next 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds however, it will become clear that these aspiring auteurs are not the masters they think they are. Witnessed by Anastasia’s omnipresent cameras, the filmmakers’ inflated egos ultimately bring about the destruction of their intended masterpieces - and lead to a surprising outcome at the award ceremony! |
