19-year-old Mia doesn’t get accepted to any university she applied to. She is afraid to tell her best friend, Jutta, who herself has family issues to deal with. Jutta’s sister, Sini, still lives with their parents, who suffers often because of their mom’s alcoholism. Mia luckily gets a chance to apply to a school in Greenwich Village, USA. When Jutta finds out about Mia hiding this from her, they spend time apart. Mia studies alone in her, and her brother Tuomo’s, apartment while Jutta and Sini enjoy the best days of summer. Finally, Jutta and Mia talk things through and send the application papers to the school Mia is applying to. Weeks go by. Finally Mia gets the results, which inform that she got into the school. The girls talk about how they’ll spend the rest of the summer.
