The pilot follows three Hollywood assistants and their lives with one another, and with their bosses. Heather (Courtney Arnett) wants to be a producer, and is assistant to a major Hollywood producer’s child, actually making her a glorified nanny. Jules (Natasha Pearl Hansen) is the assistant to an heiress socialite who can’t do a single thing for herself. Her life is her boss’s. Kim (Mallory Margaret Stephan) just moved to Los Angeles and accidentally gets a job, like her friends, as an assistant. She is hired to literally keep an old man studio executive alive. These three friends work hard to create their own identity, while running other people’s lives.
