A solitary man logs off the Internet and there immediately follows an insistent knock at his apartment door. He opens the door to a police officer, weapon drawn, who orders him to the floor. She’s looking for a pedophile, and is soon supported by two other officers, a reporter who’s gotten wind of the bust, and the now-handcuffed-man’s mother. To each new person, he explains that he was on line looking to meet a woman willing to participate in a “perfectly acceptable expression of love in contemporary society.” He’s embarrassed, the cops check out the legality of what he’s been looking for, and maybe they’ll admit that it’s a false alarm. The woman officer is intrigued. |
