The coming of age tale of Amalia, a precocious 11 year old girl, on the brink of puberty, back-dropped by early 90s day to day life in a small village in Israel. Through Her eyes, we encounter a tale of adolescence and separation. Amalia finds herself in a turmoil on the return of her uncle, a charismatic and handsome man of 35, after years in Paris, suffering from a mysterious illness. A unique friendship, based on mutual acceptance, gradually forms between the two. He enables Amalia to accept herself and she in return offers him last moments of grace and peace, right up to the inevitable end. |
