The biology teacher Dionis, living in a transition country with a make-believe law system, owns over 100 old cars. He dreams to build a vintage car museum on his illegalized land far afield the usual urban surrounding. It is a short and a seemingly amusing portrayal of the universal human saga represented through the individual. A film about the retiring professor Dionis, his passion for vintage cars, of which he has more than a hundred, and his dream of opening a museum in the little, uneventful town where he lives. While Dionis is fantasizing among his decaying cars finding in them the joy of existence, his wife makes earning for the family and for each new car of Dionis by making wedding cakes. At the boundary of magical realism full of sarcasm, Dionis succeeds to fulfill his dream of opening his modest museum. But the passion remains. He keeps dreaming of new cars, planes, and worn out motorbikes full of history… Although decaying on the parking, the cars will remain to live within him, but what is gone is the communication with his pupils and his youth. A part of his spirit dies out in a non-explicitly present, yet strongly felt sorrow that we easily recognize and strongly feel. As ours. Because it is universal. |
